Where to find your driver at Nadi Airport
As you come through after collecting your luggage look out for your driver holding a ‘Fiji Palms’ sign. If you do not meet up with your driver for any reason please ask for
Internal flight from Nadi to Nausori (Suva) Airport
Contact Pacific Sun directly firstname.lastname@example.org Note that the car journey from Nausori is one and a quarter hours. .
We would advise first time visitors against taking a local taxi from the airport or their hotel as the standard of vehicle and driver does vary. If tempted then please ensure that your vehicle is legal and licensed to carry fare paying passengers. If it is an illegal operator you will not be covered by the basic compulsory insurance. Even licensed vehicles may not have insurance that will cover you in the event of an accident in certain circumstances.
There are many companies represented at the Airport and it is possible to pre-book a rental car. Driving in Fiji is ‘different’ so, if you do decide to hire a car for your journey, do take care. The national speed limit is 80kph with reduction in the limit through villages with speed humps to slow you down. Beware of cows, horses, dogs, pigs and, of course, people, on the roads, particularly after dark.
Do you need a hire car?
Many guests have commented that they would not have hired a car for their whole stay if they had known that there were so many trips and tours organized from the Resort. A car is not necessary as shops and restaurants are within walking distance or a short taxi ride. We understand that some guests do enjoy the flexibility of a hire car. Even if you choose to take advantage of a transfer and you do feel that you would want a car for a few days once here a rental car can be ordered and delivered to the Resort.
If looking for budget transport then local buses are available from the Airport and Nadi Town periodically during the day. There is also a Coral Sun service twice a day from the Airport at 7am and 1pm, which stops at the hotels en route and costs approximately $17. Be warned, however, that the journey can take three to three and a half hours (depending on the bus service), and the buses can vary in standards of comfort. No buses will come in to the Resort, although the Coral Sun service may stop at The Pearl South Pacific next door. Otherwise, ask to be advised when you reach Pacific Harbour and get off at the Police Post, which is right opposite our entrance. You will then have to walk down the driveway to the Office, or further into the Resort to our Bar .
